Katherine Pill is Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg. When she joined the encyclopedic museum in 2013, she was the institution’s first curator to focus on modern and contemporary art. Pill was part of the curatorial team behind the first iteration of Skyway: A Contemporary Collaboration and established a series of solo exhibitions focused on artists with ties to the Tampa Bay area. Exhibition highlights include Shana Moulton: Journeys Out of the Body and Gio Swaby: Fresh Up (co-presented with the Art Institute of Chicago), both of which were the artists’ first solo museum presentations in the United States. Pill previously held the position of Assistant Curator at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City, MO. She earned a BA in Art History from McGill University in Montreal and a dual MA in Art History and Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
