Look for the colorful banners to find this year’s Young at ARt Student Exhibition – featuring the best artwork from students throughout Pinellas County. Student artwork is juried from hundreds of pieces of artwork submitted by teachers from public and private schools. Ribbons for 12 Awards of Excellence and 12 Honorable Mentions will be announced during the Mainsail Festival at the main stage, located in the south end of Vinoy Park (near the Truth Sculpture), on Saturday at 11 a.m. Certificates of Merit are presented to all student participants.
This year Mainsail and Young at ARt have added the “Young Masters Award” providing scholarships to 12th grade students who have exhibited an outstanding talent in their genre to assist them in furthering their academic endeavors in the arts. These five students, in addition to being winners in the Pinellas Region Scholastic Art Awards and having their portfolios judged during their national competition in New York, will have their work exhibited alongside the Young at ARt tent at this year’s show. Mainsail is excited about being able to participate in the Scholastic Art Awards and honor some of our local students who have excelled in this competition.
Deadline for Entries: March 14, 2014
